This study explores the cognitive dimensions behind the emergence of coercion and street bullying, focusing on the role of recovered childhood memories in shaping criminal behavior among convicts in Fashafouyeh Prison, Tehran. By examining the association and continuity of lived experiences, the research aims to uncover the mechanisms through which early life events crystallize into anti-social tendencies. The study emphasizes key components, including the impact of childhood memories, the absence of familial, religious, and social bonds, and the role of risk factors across different life stages in forming and evolving criminal behavior.
Using a quantitative and phenomenological approach, data was gathered through a researcher-designed questionnaire distributed among 100 convicts who served sentences for crimes against individuals between 1400 and 1401 in Tehran's Great Prison. Findings highlight that criminal tendencies are the result of a developmental process rather than isolated events. Variables such as criminal activity in childhood, running away from home, experiences of abuse and violence, child labor, family history of addiction or deviance, and peer socialization were all found to significantly influence the likelihood of criminal behavior, as indicated by calculated beta values. Statistical analysis was conducted using SPSS 22 software, confirming the profound impact of early life experiences on later criminal tendencies.
